today we killed our first grizzly bear!!! They are huge and strong, and I could see why the Indians didn't want to get to close. it took nearly 6 musket balls (two of which were through the head to kill the beast. They are brown and sometimes have white tips on the end of their fur giving them that grizzled look. Their huge claws are about 4 in long!!! and they weigh 300-700 pounds. I think I'll keep my distance in the future.

TJ, sorry I missed your cornbread last week. I like how you not only shared the recipe but added a short account of eating it. Nice discovery of the tern (one of my favorite birds, kind of a seagull with elegance). President Jefferson will enjoy his $B
